The chair of differential equations and mathematical physics was formed on the 27^th of May in 1994 after the division of the mathematical analysis chair. The founder of this chair is candidate of physics and mathematics, assistant professor Yuriy Iliodorovych Kharkevych.

9 instructors work at this chair now. 3 of them are candidate of physics and mathematics, assistant professors (Yu.I.Kharkevych, P.J.Myronjuk, M.Ye.Korenkov), 3 are candidate of physics and mathematics, acting assistant professors (S.B.Hembarska, K.M.Zhugallo, V.V.Sobchuk) and 3 are senior instructors (O.M.Piddubnyi, N.I.Padalko, T.V. Zhugallo).

The instructors of the chair provide teaching of such fundamental courses as differential equations, complex analysis, functional analysis, theory of measure and integral, mathematical models, history of mathematics, equations in partial derivatives, calculus of variations, methods of optimization, operation investigation. 9 specialized courses are also taught at this chair.

The head of the chair Yuriy Iliodorovych Kharkevych. He graduated from the Lutsk State Pedagogical Institute, named after Lesia Ukrainka in 1987, speciality “Mathematics”, candidate of physics and mathematics in speciality “Mathematical analysis”, assistant professor of the chair of differential equations and mathematical physics.
