Candidate of physics and mathematics, assistant professor Victor Oleksijovych Mykhailjuk, heads the applied mathematics chair.

This chair was founded in 1993 for teaching programming, computer science and applied mathematics and for other specialities. This chair provides teaching of specialists’ computer science since 1996. The aim of its activity is coordination with the basic trends of pedagogical, methodical and scientific work, both, at the university and in the region. The chair cooperates with other university’s chairs, Lutsk town and regional administration of education and science, the Volyn state regional administration, ukrainian and foreign universities.

The first head of the chair (1193-1998) was candidate of physics and mathematics, assistant professor P.J.Myronjuk. The chair was headed by doctor of physics and mathematics, professor M.I.Kratko since April, 1998 till September, 1999, by candidate of pedagogical science, assistant professor T.I.Cherkasova since September, 1999 till November, 2000, by doctor of technical sciences, professor V.I.Garbarchuk since November, 2000 till September, 2004. Candidate of physics and mathematics, assistant professor Victor Oleksijovych Mykhailjuk, heads the chair.

11 instructors work at this chair now. 5 of them are candidates of sciences, assistant professors and 14 visiting instructors.
