The head of the chair, Nisimchuk Andriy Sergiovych, doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor, and member of The Ukrainian Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, room 98-A, phone 4-12-01. 
The pedagogic chair has been functioning since the founding of The Lutsk Teacher’s Institute and began with its first lecturers of pedagogic and psychology. After the war and the renewal of the institute, the chair was headed by Y. S. Nikolko and O. S. Tatenko. In 1952, with the reorganization of the teacher’s institute, M. S. Dmytriev was elected as the head of the chair.
In 1979, by the order of the education ministerpf Ukraine, the chair was divided into the chair of pedagogic studies and the chair of psychology. During the ensuing years, S. V. Lipner, O. F. Kochkina, V. O. Nechyporuk, O. M. Shportenko, V. V. Strubyckyj, G. V. Balachnichowa, G. L. Krymska, V. M. Kovalenko led the department.
Since 1993 the chair of pedagogic has functioned as a unit of the Volyn State University; which was named after Lesya Ukrainka. In this new configuration, the chair has provided education for students of different faculties.
At present the chair is led by professor A. S. Nisimchuk, candidate of pedagogical sciences, and senior lecturers R. O. Pozinkevych, M. A. Radchenko, K. O. Nisinchuk, I. P. Tomasevska, L. I. Kormina, T. V. Lysiuk.
The science work of the chair is devoted to the investigation of modern theories of personality the study of pedagogical theory and practice of the secondary and higher school. The staff of the chair is working at the elaboration of the theoretic and methodological basis of modern pedagogical technologies.
The chair of pedagogic is providing many scientific and pedagogically enlightened activities. This chair organized and lead a practical conference: "Pedagogical technology in modern high school." (November, 1995) Also, in September 2003 a conference was held to observe the 85th birthday of V.O. Suhomlynskiy, and was attended by persons from different countries. The lecturers of the chair participated in an all-Ukrainian pedagogical reading, devoted to the distinguished pedagogue V. O. Suchomlynskiy (1994-2000) and an all-Ukrainian scientifically-practical conference: "Pedagogical science and pedagogical education" devoted to the 10th anniversary of The Ukrainian Academy of Pedagogical Sciences (November, 2002), The stated goal of the chair is to conduct active cooperation between researchers of science and of education. This is accomplished through the learning and generalization of progressive pedagogical experiences, the attendance at the general sessions of the chair with pedagogical collectives of educational and child development foundations and the elaboration of methodological recommendations for the education of the modern pupil. Great attention is paid to the preparation of skilled educators through the candidates department, which has functioned at the pedagogical chair since 1990. Under the guidance of the lecturers of the chair 5 doctor’s and 30 candidate’s dissertations have been completed. The chair of pedagogic closely collaborates with the faculties of the National Pedagogical University, Lviv National University and the Harkiv and Ternopil National Pedagogical Universities.
The lecturers of the chair have written and published three textbooks, twenty-five methodical textbooks and recommendations and twelve monographs.
The lecturers are presenting science lessons and supervising student’s work, while overseeing student diploma works on the theory and history of pedagogy. At the chair there are groups devote to the study of didactic and child development problems.

Nisimchuk Andriy Sergiovych, doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor (13.00.01 The Theory and History of Pedagogy), member of The Ukrainian Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, scientific work is devoted to the investigation of the problem of the economic development of youth and modern pedagogical technologies. Methodological materials and textbooks "Modern Pedagogical Technologies", written under his scientific guidance is used in schools and high universities of Ukraine since early 70’s. He is the author of 210 scientific works, 1 monograph (The Teaching Technology of The Physics Department), 10 textbooks ("Modern Pedagogical Technonologies" and "The Economic Education of Pupils"), 25 brochures, 170 professional articles, 35 theses. His monograph: "The learing technology of physics culture’s departments students". His book /’Technology of The Humanistic Education of Students", was awarded the Order of Volodymyr The Great in The Third Degree in 2003.
Lysiuk Tetiana Vasylivna, candidate of pedagogical sciences, senior lecturer, (13. 00. 01 -theory and history of pedagogic), is working on the problem of preparing future biology teachers for the patriotic and ecological education of pupils in school. She is the author of 10 scientific publications and the author of the methodological study "The Historical Aspects of the Humanization of Education". She was recognized by the Educational Administration of Lutsk with a diploma for the active participation in the city contest,"Teacher".
Kormina Larysa Ivanivna, candidate of pedagogical sciences, senior lecturer (13. 00. 01 -theory and history of pedagogic), is exploring the problem of forming pupils’ and students’ Weltanschauung. She developed the program of Weltanschauung’s direction for the pupils of 9-10th classes of school and methodical recommendations to the questions of Weltanschauung’s formation of a personality. She is the author of 20 scientific publications (articles, brochures), and the methodical elaboration "Weltanschauung As Basic for Self-development of the Personality".
Radchenko Maryna Andriivna, the candidate of pedagogical sciences, senior lecturer (13. 00. 01 - theory and history of pedagogic), is providing scientific work for the formation of national self-consciences of Ukrainian youth. She is the author of 77 scientific publications. Tomasevska Iryna Petrivna, candidate of the pedagogical sciences, senior lecturer (13. 00. 01 -theory and history of pedagogic), is investigating the scientific and theoretic basis of personality formation through the process of communication. She is the author of 59 scientific publications, including the methodological textbook, "Psychological and Pedagogical Diagnostics of the Communicative Ability of Pupils and Students." Her book, "Methodical Recommendations for Using Module-range System in Condition of Personality". She is a top-rated lecturer among Ukrainian Educators.
Pozinkevych Rostyslav Oleksandrovych, candidate of pedagogical sciences, senior lecturer, (13. 00. 01 of the theory and history of pedagogic). She is investigating philosophic problems of pedagogy and is the author of 70 scientific publications. Monographs: "Personality and Society", "Culture and Society", "Culture and Creative Forming of the Personality", and "Education in the Culture System". She authored the textbook "Psychology-Pedagogical Basics of Choosing a Profession"; Nisimchuk Klavdia Oleksandrivna, candidate of the pedagogical sciences, senior lecturer, (13. 00. 01 , theory and history of pedagogy). The emphasis of her scientific work is the basis of spiritual formation. She is the author of 52 publications and monographies: "Technology of the Formation of Spirituality: Didactical Aspect" and the textbook: "Taxonomy of Humanistic Student Educaiton".
