Teaching staff: There are 3% of Doctors of Science, Professors, 36% of Candidates of Science, Readers among 81 teachers of the faculty. The leading teachers and scientists of the faculty are Candidate of Philological Sciences, Reader L. Bulatetska, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor E. Horot, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Reader V. Mikhanko, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Reader I. Gunchyk, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Reader O. Rohach, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Reader M. Zhujkova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Reader S. Gedz, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Reader G. Lavrinenko, Doctor of Mathematics, Professor Daniel Sherik.
The scientific-research laboratory of the statistic lexicography works at the English practice department. Candidates` dissertations, diploma papers on the problems of lexical semantics, system-functional peculiarities of language units are performed on the basis of its card-index.
Number of students: about 1000.
Departments: English Philology, English Language Practice, German Philology, Romance and Classical Languages, Applied Linguistics, Foreign Languages of the Humanities.
Principle directions of the scientific researches: system and functional characteristics of the language units of different levels, communicative processes modelling, problems of communicative units compatibility, pragmatics, discourse semantic and communicative properties.
According to the general conception of the faculty development the whole scientific-research and scientific-methodical work is performed on the grounds of such principal complex themes: "Semantic, sociolinguistic and pragmatic peculiarities of language units", "Dictionaries compiling and lexicographical researches", "Modern methods and means of foreign languages teaching", "Communicative processes modelling". All the departments of the faculty work in borders of the research programme "Problems of new contents and teachering and education methods".
 Cooperation: the system of foreign probation periods and international links are gradually being established. More than ten students have already improved their English at specialized language schools of the USA. The best graduates of the faculty can get Master`s Degree in the USA.
The system of native speakers involving into the educational processes at the faculty has been set up. Since 1994 the teachers from the USA and Germany have been working with the students. Every year the representatives of American specialized educational establishments organize summer educational courses for the students of the Romance-Germanic philology faculty.
The faculty of Romance-Germanic philology holds relations with Kiev Linguistic University, Kiev National University after Taras Shevchenko, Lublin University after Mary Skladovska-Kjuri, System Researches Institute of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine and the Teachers and Sciences` Association of Higher School. The English practice department holds scientific collaboration with Russian Linguistic University.
Methodological seminars of the teachers and collaborators and scientific readings are conducted at the faculty. The volunteers from the “Peace Corps” work here every year. In 2003 Lukrecia Mis finished her work as a volunteer. She taught methods of the foreign language at English Philology Department.
The fact, that the teachers win prestigious grants for scientific projects on actual problems in Linguistics (the grant after senator Fullbrait — L. Bulatetska, the grants after senator Fullbrait for young scientists — V. Ushchina, V. Starko, the grants “The Act for the Freedom Supporting” — R. Tashlitskyj, S. Gorbach, the grant of the fund “Harmony” — T. Lisinska, N. Dobzhanska, N. Voloshynovych, T. Kharkovska) proves the great scientific potential of the faculty.
The faculty communicates with the International Fund “Renascence” (holding of scientific-methodical conferences, financial support of foreign probations, etc.) and International Organization “The Peace Corps”.
A great attention is paid to the international ties. An effective international correspondence, with the help of which the faculty seeks for scientific partners in the countries, which languages students learn, is held. Also the faculty establishes relations with them for organizing linguistic probations of teachers and students, for holding common scientific-research work, etc.
Material and technical basis: 2 computer classes, a laboratory of applied linguistics, a photographic laboratory, 36 educational auditoria, 2 of them are lecture-rooms and 6 educational departments` studies.
