The dean of faculty – candidate of sciences in Law professor Igor Mihailovich Yakushev.
The Law faculty was founded on the 16th of September 1993 by the rector of Volyn State University professor A. V. Svidzinsky.
The first dean of the faculty was Victor Lvovich Penko. He worked at the faculty from 1993 till 1998. Since 11 of April 2000 the faculty has been training specialists of the speciality 0601 – Law. 7.060202.
The faculty has the third level of accreditation. Teaching staff of the faculty consists of 34 teachers: 53 % of them are candidate of sciences. The leading teachers of the faculty are: doctor of sciences en law professor Pilipenko P. D., candidates of sciences in law Samchuk-Kolodiazhna Z. F., Nalivaiko V. S., Kolb O. G., Yakushev J. M., Chuboxa N.F., Reshetnik L. P., Duhnevich A. V., Laba O. V., candidate of sciences in economy professor Kachmar M. J.
Nearly 1200 students study at the faculty. The following departments are at the faculty: theory, history of state and law and Constitutional Law, Civil law and procedure, Criminal Law and procedure, Labour, agrarian and ecological law.
The main trends of the faculty scientific work are: current problems of state-legal reform, state and law of foreign countries, Constitutional law of Ukraine, current problems of legal system in Ukraine, criminology.
The faculty cooperates with Lviv national University named after I. Franko, Kharkiv National Academy named after Y. Mudriy, National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Odessa National Law Academy, Law Institute of Ternopil Academy of National Economy. In 1997 – 1998 professors from France and USA worked at the faculty.
 Nearly 100 monographs, textbooks, scientific works have been published by the scientists of the faculty. Nearly 800 specialists have been (prepared) trained by the faculty.
Many graduates of the faculty work as judges (Kostukvich O.), lawyers (Sitovskiy M., Shishuta U., Valuh V., Veremchuk V., Ulchak B.) notaries (Shklioda Y., Gubik Z., Kuyava J. and others. Some graduates of the faculty work as procurators (Shamrinsky O., Lopoha V., Savchuk O., Hvishchuk V.).
There is also legal clinic at the faculty. It is headed by prominent lawyer Yelov V. A. Students of the faculty take an active part in the work of the clinic.
The faculty has excellent facilities for study: 18 lecture halls, computer-class, laboratories, library and court criminological hall.
